Do you accept insurance for physical therapy services?

I am in network with Medicare, Tricare, BCBS, and a few other Medicare supplemental plans. Most plans have in network and out of network benefits. In addition, most plans require that you pay some portion of out-of-pocket costs for both in-network and out-of-network benefits. If I am out-of-network for you, I can provide you with an invoice for you to submit to your insurance company. I have very competitive rates for outpatient therapy, since I am the only practitioner in my practice.

Please contact your insurance company to get benefit information specific to your plan. If I can be of assistance, please feel free to contact me directly.

What’s the difference between Physical Therapy and Wellness Services?

Physical therapy is intended to evaluate and treat injury. Pain is the most frequent reason people seek a therapist. Therapy can be recommended due to an injury, faulty biomechanics, or a disease process. Insurance companies may have parameters for physical therapy benefits.

Wellness services are for clients who do not have rehabilitative needs. Services can be provided for injury prevention, exercise maintenance, or even well-being and relaxation.

Who should get a functional movement screen?

The Functional Movement Screen (FMS) is a great tool for anyone. It bridges the gap between rehabilitation and gym training. The screen assesses movement patterns, and identifies areas that might need more development.

It also identifies exercises that are not beneficial. For example, if you do not have adequate hamstring flexibility, you are at greater risk of injury if you perform squats or lunges. The FMS is a wonderful way to assess your movement literacy.

It is a precursor to the Fundamental Capacity Screen (FCS), which assesses key components of athletic capacity.

What if I need early or late hours because of school or work?

I can coordinate early or late appointment times according to the your needs. Please contact me with specific scheduling concerns.

what should i wear to therapy?

Loose fitted clothing or athletic wear is ideal for a physical therapy assessment. For females, a sports bra would be recommended, especially when assessing posture.

how long does a physical therapy evaluation take?

Evaluations are scheduled for at least an hour. There are client forms available online to fill out ahead of your appoint. Or you can fill out your info on paper forms before your appointment. If you prefer paper, please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled time in order to complete it.
